Fire Cycles

There are seven different cycles, each with its own pros and cons. Fire traps start on round 4 and activate every even-numbered round after that, guaranteed. The fire cycle is chosen randomly so you could have full fire every time although unlikely.

  • Short side fire x2: Two short sides (Zeus, Odin) and (Danu, Ra).
  • Long side fire x2: Two long sides (Zeus, Danu) and (Odin, Ra).
  • Split Fire: Adjacent fire traps activate, splitting the map in half. (Odin and Danu traps always activate first).
  • Full fire: All 4 traps activate in unison.
  • Full fire (staggered): All 4 traps activate with delay, staggering the cycle. (The Danu trap always activates first, followed by Ra, then Odin, then Zeus, repeating clockwise).

Fire Trap Timing

Each fire cycle has a set time each trap will be ON and OFF.

  • Short side & Long side fire: ON for 6 seconds, OFF for 2 seconds.
  • Split fire: ON for 10 seconds, OFF for 10 seconds (alternating halves).
  • Full fire: ON for 4 seconds, OFF for 2 seconds.
  • Full fire (staggered): ON for 4 seconds, OFF for 1 second, starting from Danu and going clockwise.

Special Round RNG

The first special round is scripted on round 9. Every 3 - 4 rounds after that is a special round. If a special round does not occur on the third round after a special, it is guaranteed on the fourth.

For example after special round 9, possible next special rounds can occur on rounds 12 and 13. Round 15 cannot be a special round as it is the only mandatory Blight Father round.

The ideal RNG is to have special rounds occur on fire trap rounds (even-numbered rounds) late-game to avoid difficult zombie/fire rounds.

Other Tips

  • Late game: shoot a single arm off Destroyers to disable their throw ability and stop them from respawning zombies they hit.
  • Destroyers do not full-kill zombies; they only respawn when zombies are hit by the axe.
  • Tigers are the biggest threat, kill them early behind walls, but if tagged and not finished, they will be aggressive when they hop over.
  • Heavy enemies like Destroyers and Marauders only spawn over the wall on the Danu/Zeus side; tigers can spawn on both long side walls.
  • Zombie spawns vary depending on your position and can be manipulated for greater safety but I’m not gonna explain here how it all works.
  • Wraith Fire is the best emergency tool for stacked tigers, always keep one charge for tigers stacking or blocking your way, especially late game with super sprinters.
  • For purist play without special ability: sometimes avoid Blight Father during difficult fire rounds and kill him the next round instead.
  • The fire can be mastered, but super sprinters require perfect rotation, fallback options, and timing.
  • Personally once super sprinters come in and I get a full staggered fire cycle I mainly get my damage from wraith charges which is the safest way as you will be too busy avoiding fire and preserving ammo for random tigers. All other fire cycles are easier and give better windows for pistol damage.
